the early years

the start
. born on the Canadian prairies ... too long ago
. grandmother (on father's side) was an artist
. mother is an artist
. father had a 35mm camera and loved taking photos
childhood
. starts using his father's camera
. has accident involving bb pellet to the left eye and has surgeries in left eye
. very near sited in right eye
. needs glasses, but won't wear them
. continues borrowing his father's camera
teenager
. finds out he is colour blind and therefore, can't become a commercial pilot
. buys his own film camera and really starts shooting
the journey begins

2006
. buys his first digital camera and the photography journey begins in earnest
2009
. starts zooming the lens and moving the camera while shooting trees, sunflowers, waterfalls, patterns and other subjects
2010
. continues autodidact creative camera journey
2011 ~ 2012
. gains control of camera movements and able to create the shots he wants
. travels a lot on motorbike and always takes camera gear with him
formal education

2012
. gets serious about photography - the hobby becomes the passion
. starts taking online courses and photography workshops
2013
. enrols in two year (but condensed into one year) digital photography course in Vancouver, Canada
. takes thousands and thousands of photos for assignments
. takes thousands and thousands and thousands of photos for personal projects
. is creating "abstract impressionism" photography (later called ICM)
. very few other ICM photographers can be found online at this time
2014
. continues refining his abilities with "abstract impressionism icm"
. finishes attending intensive digital photography program
. portfolio is left with at Artworks Gallery in Vancouver for representation
. moves to Vancouver Island
island life

2015
. continues "playing" with camera movement and experimenting
. enters Monochrome Awards with four images and receives three Honourable Mentions, two of which are created with ICM
2016
. has "In Decisive Moments" exhibition at MacMillan Art Centre
2017, 2018 & 2019
. experiments with adding electronic display devices into ICM
. experiments / creates with second generation ICM
. experiments with second generation ICM and double / multiple exposures
the journey continues

2020
. starts posting unique art on Instagram
2021
. redesigns his website (with help from Ali of Summer & Co Photography)
. starts offering Limited Edition of One prints online
. creates Understanding ICM book and training course
